Secretary of Labor, Lynn Martin, a leader of Women for Judge Thomas, spoke in support of President Bush’s nomination of Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court. Other speakers went on to say that Judge Thomas was highly qualified and embodied the qualities of a knowledgeable justice. The speakers answered questions about the importance of nominating Judge Thomas to the Supreme Court and the need for women to be aware of what Judge Thomas had done to advance women. close
