Professor Holzer talked about his book, Supreme Court Opinions of Clarence Thomas, 1991-2006: A Conservative’s Perspective, published by McFarland and Company. He defended the record and character of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas against what he terms unfair portrayals of him in the media. He analyzed many of Justice Thomas’s nearly 350 Supreme Court opinions and concluded that Justice Thomas is a formidable intellectual who is deeply committed to the Constitution and its principles of federalism, separation of powers, limited judicial review, and regard for individual rights. After his presentation Professor Holzer responded to audience members' questions.
