Benton Becker talked about the pardon of former President Nixon for any wrongdoings in the Watergate scandal which President Ford announced on September 8, 1974. Although not on his congressional or White House staff, Mr. Becker was a special adviser to President Ford in the pardon of Richard Nixon and the disposition of President Nixon’s papers and the famous Watergate tapes. He gave his perspective of the events and talked about the constitutional research he did at that time. He showed slides during his presentation and afterward responded to questions from members of the audience.
