Jodi Kantor examines the relationship between President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama. She reports on the changes to the couple’s relationship as they entered the White House and their efforts to raise their children and balance their personal life against the requirements of their public life. Ms. Kantor was interviewed by David Brooks and responded to questions from members of the audience. They discussed controversy over the book, which was released January 10, 2012, and comments made by Michelle Obama on television the previous day. Other topics included President Obama’s relationship to politics and their vision of his presidency.
