Professor Terry Sullivan from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, talked about the book he edited, The Nerve Center: Lessons in Governing from the White House Chiefs of Staff, published by Texas A and M University Press. In the book, former Chiefs of Staff discuss their respective roles in different administrations and the difficulties, memorable moments, and achievements experienced by each. Contributors include James Baker, Leon Panetta, John Podesta, Mack McClarty, and Erskine Bowles, among others. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
