Mr. Wallis reports on Davy Crockett’s childhood in eastern Tennessee and his many childhood adventures that became fodder for his renowned stories of living on the frontier as well as his election to Congress as a representative from Tennessee in 1826. Davy Crockett was killed at the Battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836. Speaking at a Tattered Cover Bookstore in Denver, he also talked about his book about Pretty Boy Floyd and the historical panorama The Wild West: 365 Days. That book was co-authored by his wife, who read passages. Mr. Wallis also responded to questions from members of the audience.
