Contributor and editor Boritt talked about the collection of essays, The Lincoln Enigma: The Changing Faces of an American Icon, published by Oxford University Press. The book addresses some of the areas of Abraham Lincoln’s life that are under modern scrutiny. Mr. Boritt said that Mr. Lincoln’s attitudes and decisions should be judged in the context of the 1800s. In The Lincoln Enigma nine Lincoln scholars, including Mr. Boritt, explore Abraham Lincoln’s marriage, his plan to send blacks back to Africa and other aspects of his legacy. close
