Mr. Dees talked about his experiences during the civil rights movement and the purpose of the Southern Poverty Law Center. He founded the center, of which he is executive director, during the 1960s and monitors groups such as the Ku Klux Klan. Following his prepared remarks, Mr. Dees took questions from the students.
