Authors of books on modern U.S. Presidents discussed Chief Executives from Richard Nixon to George W. Bush in a forum titled “The Imperial Presidency.” Panelists included Mr. Reeves, author of President Nixon: Alone in the White House, Mr. Barber, author of The Truth of Power: Intellectual Affairs in the Clinton White House, and Mr. Cannon, author of President Reagan: The Role of a Lifetime. Mr. Karabell, author of The Last Campaign: How Truman Won the 1948 Election, moderated the event. After the discussion the panelists answered questions from members of the audience. close
