Stephen Carter talked about his novel, The Impeachment of Abraham Lincoln. He talked about how the book arose out of speculations about what could have happened if President Lincoln had survived what was his assassination. This scenario includes other efforts of his enemies to remove him from the White House.
He was interviewed while at the 12th annual National Book Festival, held on the National Mall.
