On this panel sponsored by the Close-Up Foundation, journalists spoke to students about the importance of the Internet in upcoming elections and how soon the Internet will dominate news distribution and campaigns. They agreed that the Internet was helping to decentralize and personalize the exchange of information. Some worried, though, that Internet communities could hurt the functioning of local communities. They also fielded questions from the audience. close
