Dexter Filkins talked about his book The Forever War, which is about his experiences covering Iraq and Afghanistan between 1998-2006 for the New York Times. In his remarks he showed projected images taken by photographers he has worked with, read passages from his book, and responded to questions from the audience.

Dexter Filkins is a foreign correspondent for the New York Times. He was based in Baghdad from 2003 to 2006. Before joining the Times, he was New Delhi bureau chief for the Los Angeles Times and was recently a fellow at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard. close
