Mr. Strachan talked about his book, The First World War, published by Viking Press. In the book, the author argues that the war was a global one even before the United States formally entered the conflict in 1917. He also addresses the role of the European powers' colonial territories in the war, and says that the lasting effects of World War I are still being felt today. Following prepared remarks, he responded to questions from members of the audience. close
