Mr. Kovach and Mr. Rosenstiel, co-authors of The Elements of Journalism: What Newspeople Should Know and the Public Should Expect, published by Crown Publishers, joined a panel discussion on the past, present, and future of journalism. The panelists discussed honesty in journalism, the roll of the audience, corporate ownership in network television, salaries of network journalists, network journalism and entertainment, minorities and women in journalism, and the media coverage of the 2000 Presidential Election. Mr. Greenfield was moderator.
