Gary Marcus talked about his book The Birth of the Mind: How a Tiny Number of Genes Creates the Complexities of Human Thought, published by Basic Books. Mr. Marcus explains the relationship between biology and the mind in his book and describes the make-up of the brain from functions that form at birth to the development of genes into adulthood. The author asserts that advanced biological and genetic research will soon lay the foundation for the genetic revolution. Following his remarks Professor Marcus responded to questions from members of the audience. close
