Mr. Winik talked about his book April 1865: The Month That Saved America, published by HarperCollins. Mr. Winik offers a new perspective on the occurrences that led to the end of the Civil War. Mr. Winik asserts that it was not inevitable that the Civil War ended as it did but chronicles events of the chaotic, last thirty days of the war that could have permanently changed the country. After his presentation Mr. Winik answered questions from members of the audience. close
