Mr. Breslin talked about his book The Church That Forgot Christ, published by The Free Press. He disapproves of some positions of the Catholic Church and suggested new policies that may help restore the Church’s public image. Mr. Breslin, a lifelong practicing Catholic, felt that the preachings of the Catholic Church were not in keeping with many of its practices. He believes that abusive priests are protected within the Church and that there are ulterior motives behind many of its decisions. The author then suggested reforms such as married or women priests which he feels will help alleviate many of the problems. After his remarks Mr. Breslin answered audience members' questions.
