Prime Minister Anand Panyarachun outlined the economic and political reforms that are taking place in Thailand, and discussed some of the difficulties his government has faced, such as a growing AIDS epidemic. The prime minister is a former ambassador to the United States and Canada, and also served as his nation’s representative to the United Nations. He became prime minister in March of this year. close
