Vice President Cheney spoke at a luncheon for congressional candidate Shelley Sekula-Gibbs at the Hyatt Regency in Houston. She was a write-in candidate to replace former Rep. Tom DeLay in Texas’s 22nd Congressional District. In his remarks Vice President Cheney talked about economic policy and national security. He also criticized Democratic lawmakers for obstructing the Bush administration’s policy proposals and efforts to conduct counterterrorism operations.
