Director Mueller addressed the Policy Insiders Breakfast on the reorganization of the Federal Bureau of Investigation that had been done in order to more effectively address terrorism and other threats. He said that the FBI has improved its capabilities in not only collecting but also analyzing and sharing information by creating the National Security Branch. The bureau has also upgraded its technology and expanded its human capital. Director Mueller focused on ways the bureau protects American businesses as well as protecting the mobility, the freedom, and the way of life of Americans. An area of concern was cyber crimes such as the theft of intellectual property, child pornography, online fraud, and computer intrusions. He described the InfraGard program as a vital link between the FBI and the private sector that through better communication and the exchange of information helps the FBI protect critical information systems.
