The House Committee on Homeland Security holds a hearing to examine the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) process of awarding anti-terrorism grants. Recently announced funding levels included 40% cuts to New York City and Washington, D.C., two of the highest risk cities in the country. Witnesses representing affected cities and the Department of Homeland Security testified about the potential impact of new funding priorities and the needs of various state, local and federal agencies in facing terrorist threats. close
