Before an audience at Vanderbilt University, the candidates for U.S Senate for Tennessee, republican Lamar Alexander, and democrat Bob Clement debated many issues, including negative campaign ads, Iraq, the economy, taxes, and the federal and state budgets. The debate was co-moderated by Chris Clark of News Channel 5 and Bonna De la Cruz, correspondent for The Tennesseean newspaper in Nashville.
