Jackie and Jenny Spinner were interviewed about their book Tell Them I Didn’t Cry: A Young Journalist’s Story of Joy, Loss, and Survival in Iraq, published by Scribner. The book chronicled Jackie’s 2004 experience as a war reporter in Baghdad reporting for the Washington Post. Her twin sister Jenny, who was Jackie’s main contact in the U.S., wrote brief vignettes at the end of each chapter telling how she and the rest of their family dealt with Jackie’s reporting assignment and the effect it had on their relationship. During the presentation, the sisters read portions of the book and answered questions from members of the audience at Jenny Spinner’s alma mater, Millikin University. close
