Governor Timothy M. Kaine accepted the report of the independent Virginia Tech Review Panel. The panel had been reviewing the circumstances surrounding the tragedy on the campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg on April 16, when a student killed 32 students and professors and wounded more before committing suicide. Governor Kaine, panel chair Colonel Gerald Massengill, and other panel members made remarks, and then responded to questions from the media. close
