Republican Senators Mike Lee (UT), James Inhofe (OK), David Vitter (LA), and Jeff Sessions (AL) spoke at a news conference held outside the Capitol by tea party leaders and grassroots activists opposing the Senate immigration bill. They argued that the current bipartisan legislation would do nothing to secure the border, and is too similar to the 1986 legislation which they called “amnesty.” close
