Republican Members of the House Judiciary Committee held a meeting on proposed Democratic changes to the USA PATRIOT Act. They members and witnesses criticized several changes saying the proposals would lead to the expansion of terrorist rights and hinder law enforcement. Among the topics addressed were information gathering, use of intelligence, civil liberties, and the conduct of terror investigations. close
