Committee members heard testimony from Holocaust victims' relatives and advocates and a Swiss banking representative about Swiss banks which still hold assets of Jews killed during the Holocaust. Several witnesses talked about the need for the Swiss government to set up a fund for elderly Jews as a gesture of good faith even before the investigation into these accounts is completed. The Swiss banking official countered that this was premature and that the Swiss government and banking industry will not try to conceal any information. close
