Peter Popham talked about his biography of Burma’s Aung San Suu Kyi, the longtime opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize-recipient who spent 15 years under house arrest. She was finally allowed to run in the election to the lower house of the Burmese parliament to be held April 1, 2012. In researching the book, Mr. Popham took covert trips to Burma and interviewed Aung San Suu Kyi. He was interviewed by Ms. DiMaggion and responded to questions from members of the audience. This event was held by the Asia Society in New York City.
