"The Geneva Conventions and the Rules of War in the Post 9-11 and Iraq World" conference panel "Treatment and Detainment of Non-State Fighters" focused on the treatment and detention of suspected terrorists and insurgents and apparent gray areas in the Geneva Conventions as they apply to combatants representing entities other than nation states. Panelists talked about potential revisions to the Geneva Conventions, ways of defining enemy combatants, and U.S. treatment of prisoners from Afghanistan and Iraq. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience.
