Senator Schumer spoke about the nomination of Judge John Roberts to the U.S. Supreme Court. He compared the confirmation process for Justice Ginsburg to those expected for Judge Roberts. Senator Schumer focused on the amount and type of information available to senators prior to confirmation hearings as well as the types of questions and answers expected on judicial philosophies. Following his remarks, the senator responded to questions and comments from members of the audience.
