Syracuse University Professor Tazim Kassam introduced the second session of a summit on peace making with an address focusing on the urgent need for understanding between cultures. Following her remarks, David Crane, joined by co-facilitator Diane Weathers, moderated the session in which audience members present at the event, as well as remote viewers, focused on strategies for successful peace making programs. They talked about potential community-based conflict resolution, individual and mutual actions to promote peace, alleviating economic disparities, and the role of the international community in the promotion of peaceful co-existence. close
