A conference on Internet issues titled “Focus on Children” was sponsored by Internet providers, users and others as “the beginning of an ongoing dialogue” on a complex issue. The initial summit focused on safety of Internet use for children. National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) President Lois White provided an overview of the issues. America Online Chairman and CEO Steve Case and the first panel discussed safety and the online educational needs of children. close
