“Bullying Trends: Where We Have Been, Where We Are Now, and Where We Are Going” was the first plenary session of the day-long summit “Keeping Kids Safe: Opportunities and Challenges in Bullying Prevention,” hosted by the Department of Education. Panelists talked about progress in combating bullying. Michael Lu said that the nation could do a lot better with bullying prevention but progress had been made in raising public awareness. He said that the main factors for making progress on bullying prevention included a knowledge basis, social strategy, and political will.
