The two subcommittees met jointly to hear testimony about the crisis in Sudan and what the U.S. might do about it. Witnesses said that genocide, slavery and religious persecution are still occurring. It was suggested that governments around the world and the United Nations should try to stop the war in Sudan through peaceful negotiation. close
