Rohit Chopra and Susan Dynarski talked about whether there was a student debt crisis in the U.S., and, if so, who was being affected and why. They examined the role of the student loan industry, financial aid policies, for-profit institutions, and rising tuition fees in creating and proliferating the problem. They also offered policy solutions and industry reforms that could protect both student borrowers and the affordability of higher education. This program at the University of Michigan’s Annenberg Auditorium was co-hosted by the Education Policy Initiative at the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and the School of Education. close
