Secretary Bodman spoke to reporters about additional loans from the Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR) in response to disruptions in the fuel supply and increased prices caused by Hurricane Katrina. The crude oil loans will be loaned from the SPR under short-term contractual agreements and returned to the Reserve once supply conditions return to normal. Following his announcement, Secretary Bodman responded to questions and comments from the reporters. close
