Representative Steve Scalise (R-LA), chair of the Republican Study Committee, talked by remote video about the committee’s efforts to promote conservative ideas to Congress and to the public. The Republican Study Committee’s purpose is to advance a “conservative social and economic agenda in the House of Representatives.” On March 26, 2014, the RSC unveiled a JOBS Act (Jumpstarting Opportunities with Bold Solutions Act), which focuses on energy development, labor laws, loosening federal regulations, and jobs that the group thinks would be created if its recommendations were followed. After the interview the reporters in the studio discussed his responses with the host. close
