Ambassador Ivo Daalder spoke about an upcoming NATO summit in Chicago and future directions for NATO strategy and operations. In his remarks he addressed a number of issues including plans by the newly elected French president to withdraw troops from Afghanistan. The ambassador also spoke U.S. relations with Russia, where President Vladimir Putin was elected to a third term.
