Panelists talked about the work of President John F. Kennedy’s Commission on the Status of Women, which documented extensive discrimination against women in the workplace and in politics. Established in 1961 by President Kennedy and chaired by former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, the Presidential Commission on the Status of Women sought to address discrimination against women in labor, education and policy. close
