Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Jonathan Greenert spoke about the state of the Navy and its long-term operational strategy in the Asia-Pacific. The move was part of the Obama administration’s overall military strategy as the transition out of Afghanistan and the Middle East continued. In a recent article published in Foreign Policy magazine, Admiral Greenert said the Navy planed to increase the number of ships in the Asia-Pacific by 20% reaching a total of 60 by 2020.
