Ed DeMarco talked about reducing loan amounts for some homeowners. In his remarks he said that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could see benefits from principal reductions; however, he also said no final decisions have been made on principal reduction, and he defended other programs aimed at helping homeowners facing foreclosure. Afterward, he answered questions from the audience.
