At the State Department daily briefing, Spokesperson Mark Toner answered questions about a Senate Armed Services Committee report on the distribution of State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development assistance to Afghanistan during the previous decade. According to the findings in the report the aid has had little success. Mr. Toner said that his department had responded and “welcomed but did not endorse” all of the conclusions of the report. close
