She talked about the reasons behind the problem, including the decline in imports due to North Korea’s political isolation and natural disasters affecting domestic agriculture. She outlined what the U.N. and nations have done to provie food and what else needs to be done if a starvation epidemic is to be averted. After her remarks, she took questions from the press. close
