The panelists talked how reform would affect certain groups of the population. They focused on how individual accounts that have been proposed would hurt women in the system because they would no longer receive widow benefits. They also focused on African-Americans, Hispanics, and the disabled and how many people in these groups depend on Social Security for 75 percent of their income. They also stressed that the younger generation will receive less benefits unless reform takes place. After their prepared remarks questions were taken from the audience. close
