The National Commission on Small Farms met for a public meeting. Members of the panel, which is chaired by former Rep. Harold Volkmer, heard testimony from Department of Agriculture officials and representatives of various agricultural groups. Issues included, farm credit, cooperative ownership, marketing access and conservation programs. The commission was appointed by Secretary Dan Glickman to examine policies which could aid the survival and prosperity of small farms and farmers. This program includes only the morning session. close
