David Reynolds talked about his book Summits: Six Meetings That Shaped the Twentieth Century. In the book he contends that that summitry was a key element of foreign policy in the 20th century because the development of the atomic bomb and other weapons of mass destruction raised the potential costs of war to an intolerable level. He analyzes the six meetings that shaped the political landscape of the last century. Following his prepared talk he answered questions from members of the audience.
