A discussion was held of the civil rights movement in Maryland, with personal stories from individuals who took part in some of the earliest civil rights protests in Baltimore. Participants included the first African American admitted to the University of Maryland School of Nursing and a participant in one of the first sit-ins in the nation, held at Baltimore’s Read’s Drugstore in 1955. The panelists also responded to questions from members of the audience.
