House Democratic leaders Xavier Becerra (D-CA) and Joe Crowley (D-NY) spoke to reporters following a caucus meeting. Representative Crowley said the latest House Republican bill to re-open the federal government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling “will never pass the Senate.” Both leaders spoke favorably about a similar Senate bill being negotiated by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. close
