Historians talked about the legacy of the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire in which 146 garment workers died on March 25, 1911, in New York City. After the presentations, one of which included visuals, the presenters responded to questions from members of the audience. Professor Alice Kessler-Harris chaired.

“The Triangle Shirtwaist Fire of 1911: A Centennial Remembrance” was a panel of the annual meeting of the Organization of American Historians, held at the Hilton-Americas Houston. The panel was co-sponsored by the Labor and Working-Class History Association and the OAH Committee on the Status of Women in the Historical Profession. close
