Jeff Shaara talked about his father Michael Shaara’s novel, The Killer Angels, written from the perspectives of four generals involved in the Battle of Gettysburg. Jeff Shaara wrote Gods and Generals as a prequel to his father’s book, and has gone on to write other novels set during the Civil War, American Revolution, World War One, and World War Two. He responded to questions from members of the audience in Rabb Lecture Hall at the Boston Central Library.

The 2011-2012 Lowell Lecture Series commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. This was the first lecture of the season. close
